Meta got the hard part right, which was not the technology: these look like Wayfarers because they are Wayfarers, and that is why people wear them when they left every previous pair of smart glasses in a drawer. The open-ear audio is genuinely good for calls and podcasts while walking, and the camera is well placed for capture that does not require staging a shot. The multimodal AI is the part that varies most by where you live — features arrive in some regions long before others, and buying on the strength of a demo you saw online is a real risk. Battery life is the other honest limit: this is a device you use in sessions, not one that lasts a working day. And the camera is exactly what gets these confiscated at a secure site.
