Google Launches Google Pics: AI-Powered Image Creation and Editing Tool

Google has launched Google Pics, an AI-powered tool designed to facilitate image creation and editing within Google Workspace. The new feature, built on the company's Nano Banana image generation and editing model, allows users to generate and refine custom graphics using simple text prompts. Google Pics offers precise control over image editing, enabling users to isolate objects, edit text, and translate words directly within their images.

The tool is rolling out to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and most Workspace business customers over the coming weeks. Google Pics will be integrated into Workspace apps, starting with Slides, Docs, and Drive, allowing users to edit images without leaving their favorite applications. This seamless integration aims to enhance productivity by eliminating the need to switch between different applications for image creation and editing.

Key features of Google Pics include the ability to generate multiple image options from a single prompt and collaborate with team members on the same image. The integration with Google Workspace apps begins today with Docs and Slides, with plans to extend to Drive in the near future. Users can access Google Pics by visiting pics.new.

Google aims to streamline the workflow for millions of users who interact with billions of images across Workspace products every month. With Google Pics, users can now harness powerful AI image generation and editing capabilities directly within their preferred Google Workspace applications, enhancing both creativity and efficiency.
