The Fall 2026 Keynote Calendar: What September Has Actually Confirmed
Three September keynotes have company-confirmed dates — Apple on the 9th, Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit on the 22nd–24th, Meta Connect on the 23rd–24th. Here is what each has actually confirmed, separated from what is only reported.
Three technology keynotes have firm, company-confirmed dates in September 2026. This is what each one has committed to publicly — and, just as importantly, what is still only pre-event reporting.
Apple — September 9
Apple has confirmed "Surprise and Shine" for September 9 at Apple Park. Our full preview covers the iPhone side: no plain iPhone 18 this cycle, an iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, and Apple's first foldable — all reported, none confirmed by Apple.
One detail that is confirmed and worth adding: this is John Ternus's first keynote as Apple's CEO. Apple announced in April 2026 that Tim Cook would move to executive chairman and Ternus, previously senior vice president of hardware engineering, would take over as CEO — effective September 1, 2026.
Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit — September 22–24
Qualcomm has confirmed its annual Snapdragon Summit for September 22–24 in Maui. This is where next year's flagship Android silicon is announced.
What is only reported — from supply-chain leakers cited by GSMArena, Smartprix and others, not from Qualcomm:
- A two-tier top end for the first time: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and a higher Gen 6 Pro (codenames SM8950 / SM8975)
- A move to a 2nm manufacturing process
- A new Snapdragon X-series chip for Windows-on-Arm laptops
Treat all of that as unconfirmed until the keynote. If it holds, it feeds directly into our hardware sizer and the smartphones section.
Meta Connect — September 23–24
Meta has confirmed Connect for September 23–24 at its Menlo Park campus. Historically this is the Quest and smart-glasses event, and Meta has publicly teased new glasses. Product specifics are not confirmed.
Also this month, in EVs
Two things worth noting, both attributed:
- Volkswagen has opened UK order books for the ID. Polo, its smallest and most affordable EV, with wider trim availability from September 10. Reported entry pricing sits in the low-to-mid £20,000s, but sources disagree and VW's finalised UK trim pricing is not settled — we are not quoting a figure yet.
- Tesla's Model Y L — the three-row Model Y — has seen US delivery estimates on Tesla's own configurator slip to November–December 2026, per multiple order trackers.
Both are candidates for our electric vehicles section once we can assess them against verified specifications rather than pre-launch figures.
