The subscription is the standing complaint
You buy the hardware from $349 and still pay $5.99/month (or $69.99/year) to read the full data. It is a real friction point and the reason RingConn and Circular exist — but Oura's interpretation layer, the part that tells you what a temperature deviation or an HRV dip means, is also the most developed in the category, and that is what the membership funds.
