Reactiv Automates Mobile Commerce with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore

Reactiv, a provider of mobile commerce solutions for Shopify merchants, has announced the successful implementation of Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to automate the management of native mobile apps. This move has significantly reduced the time required for merchants to configure their apps, cutting it by 80 percent. Previously, onboarding tasks that took 17 hours of manual work now take just 3 hours, and post-launch changes can be made in minutes rather than days.

The company built an AI Scheduler using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and the Strands Agents SDK, enabling merchants to specify app updates in natural language. This system has streamlined the development process, allowing a three-person team to deploy a three-agent system in 10 weeks, compared to the 15 weeks required for a single-agent build. Additionally, the solution has simplified tooling and reduced costs, saving nearly $6,000 annually in compute expenses alone.

Reactiv's use of Amazon Bedrock AgentCore has also improved runtime performance, with scheduled jobs completing in approximately 5 minutes, down from over 10 minutes previously. The company attributes these gains to the unified architecture and managed services provided by Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, which eliminate the need for custom infrastructure and vector databases.
