The Data Agent allows users to connect to their company's data and context, enabling them to ask questions and receive analysis and action recommendations directly within the platform.
According to the announcement, the Data Agent is built from the tools OpenAI uses internally to analyze data. It enables users to quickly build custom views and dig deeper into trends that matter most to their business. The Data Agent can be installed through the Plugins directory in ChatGPT Work, and administrators can make it available for their teams through Workspace settings.
Several companies have already started using the Data Agent, including Piston, Doeren Mayhew, CookUnity, and Turing. Shivam Shah, Co-founder and COO of Piston, noted that the Data Agent has made sophisticated reporting more accessible, helping leaders deliver clear and shareable insights across the firm. Paul Griz, Senior Manager of Information Technology at Doeren Mayhew, added that different teams across marketing and finance were using the Data Agent to turn raw data into interactive dashboards tailored to each office within two days of installation.
The Data Agent can be used for a variety of purposes, such as diagnosing metric changes, designing KPI frameworks, and creating leadership readouts. Users can start a conversation with @Data and ask their business questions to get started with the Data Agent.
