Google is ending Safety Signal on Pixel Watch LTE models as of December 12, 2026. This change affects emergency features like Emergency SOS and Fall Detection, but core safety features will continue to work with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

What happened

Google announced the discontinuation of Safety Signal on Pixel Watch LTE models as of December 12, 2026. Safety Signal was introduced to provide LTE connectivity for essential safety features such as Emergency SOS and Fall Detection without a standalone carrier plan for Google Health Premium users. Existing Safety Signal users will receive advance notice via email and push notifications and can continue to use the features during a 30-day transition period. After December 12, 2026, users will need a mobile plan or eSIM through a supported carrier to maintain continuous access to Emergency SOS, Fall Detection, and cellular capabilities when away from their phone.
