An optical heart-rate reader in the stem means the earbuds you already wear during a workout replace the strap you kept forgetting, and IP57 means sweat and rain stop being a consideration. Cancellation is genuinely improved — Apple claims roughly twice the Pro 2 — and the handoff behaviour across iPhone, iPad and Mac still has no real equivalent. Be clear on the battery, because it is widely misreported: eight hours with cancellation on, ten only in Transparency mode, twenty-four in total with the case. That is a solid figure, not a category-leading one. And outside Apple's ecosystem these become ordinary earbuds, losing spatial audio, seamless switching and most of the controls.
