Where the cost actually lands

Not in the body — in the workflow. Files this size change how much storage you buy, how long each edit takes, and what machine you need to run Lightroom without lag. That ongoing tax is easy to underestimate until you own one, and it scales with every shoot.

The trade-offs

• Rolling shutter in fully silent mode. For anything moving fast, you go back to the mechanical shutter — this is not an action camera.
• File sizes slow the whole pipeline, from card write to export.
• $3,899 body-only, before the lenses that do 61MP justice.

Who should buy

Landscape and architecture photographers, studio and portrait shooters, and commercial work that delivers large files. Buying this for sports or wildlife-in-flight is an expensive mismatch — a lower-resolution, faster body is the right tool there.
